A long time ago I joined a writers' group led by Barbara DeMarco Barrett. My writing has improved greatly from doing so. I wrote "Headcase", "Hector Impala, P.V." as well as other pieces in that group. Recently we collaborated for the first time with her words and my pictures on a follow up to her book, Pen on Fire.
Not my usual thing but that's what I found great about the collaboration was doing things a little different to fit the text and a different audience. These are two of the four detailed roughs we put together. The other two are posted on my site, kidslitart.com.
