The assignments for the writers' magazine, ASJA Monthly, are fun since they offer interesting visual challenges to solve. The main article for this issue was 'writing smarter not harder.' You can see my solution in the image.
I tried to visualize what might be an ideal writer's location: morning in a victorian house just across from the breakfast nook surrounded by her interrupting friends. I love to draw animals so I was able to fit them in and, of course, the heart mug of coffee near at hand. Someone wrote the magazine to say that the woman writer in the illustration is using an invention similar to the writing 'machine' that Thomas Jefferson created. I'd been to Monticello years ago and must have subconsciously stored away the idea.
