I've illustrated stories several times for the LA Times' 'Kids' Reading Room' but this is the first time it's been for a story I wrote myself. It's a silly story (partly autobiographic) that has a good idea running through it about consequences of actions and learning to avoid problems by asking yourself 'And Then What?' We all get this wrong at times as kids but it's really important to recognize as an adult. The illustration, like most of my work is ink and watercolor on paper. Only a minimum of digital funny business. I think I will be writing more since it's great fun to assign myself to paint a giant, monster frog-beast. Here is the link to the story on the LA Times website... http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-1113-story-20111113,0,1977558.story
This is a really silly story but so funny and exciting. I really do love the pics you make.
