There is something fun about drawing a cityscape and noodling in all the little windows. That and creating the look of a city that works and is lived in. This illustration was another cover for the ASJA Monthly. The subject was corporate writing so I put the character of the writer on top of her world. I hope there's a touch of childlike fantasy about it, too. Why should King Kong have a monopoly on topping skyscrapers?
The illustrators that inspire me (like Ronald Searle and M. Sasek) build such wonderful cities. This is probably my favorite of the 15 or so covers I've done for the publication.
