This really makes me feel good. Draw 50 Magical Creatures will hit bookstores across the country on October 13th. This is my first book with a "name" publisher, in this case Doubleday / Broadway a division of Random House. The first of what I hope to be many.
Lee Ames who started thewhole series years ago has an admirable history (he worked at Disney on "Pinnochio" and "Fantasia" and
at the Eisner / Iger comic book studios, created the comic book superhero Firebrand and was one of the
first artists on the Landmark series of children's books in the 50's.) Other artists who have collaborated
with Lee on the Draw 50 series are Mort Drucker (Mad magazine) and Bob Singer (Hanna Barbera) so I
am excited to be in that crowd.
And if I can ask a favor, it would be that you buy your copy in physical stores. It supports the economy on a human basis and then there's that whole thing about the way sales are accounted for is different.
There is more happening in October and I'll get to that later.
